Each year we depend on a team of dedicated volunteers from around the community. We’re asking for your help to fill some very important positions within our organization.
We are currently looking to fill the following positions:
Score Clock Operator
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate the official game score clock throughout duration of home games; including pre-game warm ups
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail
- Adaptable and quick thinking
- Perform well under potentially stressful situations
- Prefer experience using game clock equipment
- Knowledge of the game of hockey is considered an asset
- Must be available for all home games (schedule can be located online)
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (2-3 hours)
- Must be able to work in cold environment
Score Sheet Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete the official game sheet throughout duration of home games
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail
- Must have legible hand writing (sample to be provided)
- Adaptable and quick thinking
- Perform well under potentially stressful situations
- Prefer experience completing score sheets
- Must of knowledge of the game of hockey
- Must be available for all home games (schedule can be located online)
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (2-3 hours)
- Must be able to work in cold environment
MASCOT
Responsibilities:
- Perform as “Bauer the Bear” Mascot at community appearances and Saanich Jr B Hockey home games (schedule can be located online)
- Commit entirely to the assigned scheduled opportunities for “Bauer” to appear at game and community events
- Maintain “Bauer” costume
- Commit to appearances at home games and community events to promote the Saanich Jr B Hockey
- Distribute promotional items designed to help increase spirit and attendance at home games and events
- Personally interact with Braves fans
- Work events throughout the year, could include some summer appearances
Requirements:
- Ability to work scheduled event dates
- Extensive night and weekend work will be required
- Criminal Record Check Required
Qualifications:
- Outgoing and creative personality with a willingness and desire to have fun
- Willingness to perform wacky promotional activities at home games and at community events
- Willingness to represent the Saanich JR Braves, our mission and core values, in a positive manner
- Discretion a MUST
For students requiring volunteer hours, Saanich Jr Hockey team management will provide written support and will work with agencies or schools to determine requirements are met.
