A Letter from the Braves… Thank You

Share This:

As the Saanich Jr B Hockey season has come to a close our owners Ed and Norm would like to congratulate the players on a season of hard work. These young men have contributed greatly to the Braves Organization and community, by practicing countless hours to prepare for games, bagging groceries at Country Grocer, visiting local schools, and volunteering their time. All the while, smiling and representing their team name with pride and joy.

This season did not go without its share of challenges, starting with the battle against the Oceanside Generals in the Wild Card game. The players also faced several injuries, and overcame numerous mental and physical obstacles, ultimately succeeding in giving Campbell River a run for their money in a few thrilling games.

As the season wraps up, the Saanich Braves Organization would like to wish the departing 20-year-old players, Thomas Sercombe (number five), Assistant Captain Nick Kean (number eleven), and Captain Jack Rachwalski (number 9), the best of luck in their future endeavors. Each player has been a great asset to the team and has represented the Braves organization exceptionally.

To the Coach, Assistant Coaches, Trainer, and Equipment Manager:

Thank you all for the countless hours of hard work, dedication, and efforts this past season. Each of you has helped the organization become what it is today. The amount of time and special attention that you have dedicated to every player has been admirable. Everything done is appreciated in helping these young men become better players and people, on and off the ice. Know that your leadership will inspire and help them for many years to come.

To the several volunteers who have helped the team this season:

Thank you for your time and generous service. It can be said, undoubtedly, that this organization wouldn’t have succeeded this season without you. The long hours spent at the rink organizing the game days, and working the clock, game sheet, concession, gate, security etc. are truly appreciated. We acknowledge the sacrifices you have made and continue to make to help out the team, and these continued contributions are invaluable.

To the fans and families:

Thank you for all of your love and support throughout the season.

Now looking forward, the process of planning, preparing and strategizing begins. Everyone can be excited to face a new set of challenges, goals and successes, along with anything else that might be in store for next year’s season.
